Pre 1984. By an unknown Saddler, a Colmillos under the thrall of Las Plagas attacks, infects & indirectly kills the grandfather of Luis Serra-Navarro. This sends the young boy on his journey into the study of bioweapons, starting with Umbrella.

Resembles the abdomen of a large wasp, covered in hairs, & possesses both pairs of genitalia + a stinger.

The blades are described as sharp as needles & covered in protective chitin. One rests at the bottom, while two sit on the top of his ungodly form.

Innumerable, used for grasping, penetrating or flailing in close proximity.
HORNS / MANDIBLES,.
Mutations that are used either as a battering ram, to lift / crush immensely heavy or durable objects, or to rip / snap prey to death. Two rest on his scalp, the last on his chin.

IRREVERSIBLE PARASITIC FORM / "GOD EVERLASTING" OR "HASHIRA".

DESCRIPTION,
This form utterly dwarfs human beings, being hundreds of feet in height & length. It is a large mass of tentacles, eyeballs, & needle-like tails, representing a branching tree forming a pillar, housing inside a kami/demon, referred to in the files as a 'rampaging pillar of flesh' in a Shinto context. Lord Saddler rests inside protective tissue upon a black & iridescent throne made of his own shredded flesh. Unless this form is killed, he cannot resurrect & return to a humanoid state.

CONNECTIONS TO RESIDENT EVIL 5.
NDIPAYAN COLLAPSE / ENEMIES OF PROGENITOR. As RE4, RE5 & RE4R are all canonical to the universe, my blog follows the lore established in RE4 that Las Plagas has a collective intelligence & in RE5 that Las Plagas origins & worshippers stem from Kijuju, West Africa. Depicted upon Ndipayan murals, Las Plagas was the downfall of The God-King civilization, with their biological opposition being Progenitor Virus carriers, which attempted to control / enslave the parasites. These stories were evidently retained thousands of years later by ancient cultists, as Los Iluminados incorporated Sunflowers / Sonnentreppe into their own illumination. As such, Osmund is naturally hostile towards carriers of this virus, such as Albert Wesker.
OLD CASTLE, PRE 15th CENTURY. When Los Iluminados was initially founded, a mass civilization was rediscovered ^{(& continued)} underground, as followers of the parasite consider the depths sacred. The 'old castle' is explicitly mentioned in the Japanese Localization of RE4R: '初代  グレゴリオ  征討伯 手勢を率い、古城にはびこる悪魔達を掃滅。勲功を認められ伯爵位を賜る。以後代々、島に封じた悪魔の監視を任とする。' & the remnants lay beneath Salazar Fortress. As there is nothing officially stated in canon, my portrayal establishes that Adam's ancestors were surviving descendants of Ndipayan migrants, which were the first humans to settle north in Iberia, thus fulfilling their status as indigenous. This also supports them adorning & using Adinkra, found in Ghana, West Africa.
WATER OF THE CURSED. Living underground, in mountainous caves, or alongside the ocean, enduring starvation & evading sunlight for hundreds of years, the zealous began to mutate due to their parasitic gene expression & evolutionary adaptability. Becoming sickly pale with partial hair loss, their bodies remained hidden from the hazardous sun by long, dark robes. As of RE4R, Ganados can reproduce amongst each other or with humans, establishing a new subspecies of pure / hybrid mutants. Nothing has been established that they are sterile or disinterested in sex, but they likely suffer from infertility.

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS.
XENOPHOBIA & RACISM. Osmund Saddler IS NOT written as xenophobic or racist towards outsiders. This was never intended in the script, & fandom largely takes his "Anti-American" sentiments, which is solely against the government institution & their agents, grossly out of context. They solely express forms of Speciesism & Misanthropy towards humanity as a whole, but it is not absolute. This is fictional & not xenophobia / racism.
FAITH. Lord Saddler has ALWAYS been a legitimate believer of his faith as he is biologically programmed to do so. He is not a false prophet, nor is he a con-man / scammer using religion as a front to fund bioweapon research. Yōsuke Yamagata & Shinji Mikami designed the character with the intent of him being a guru / spiritual teacher since his debut in 2005.
EXTRATERRESTRIAL RELATIONS. Los Iluminados desires universal assimilation & that their conquest does not end with Earth, as described in their very holy book: '我らの祈りは  殖え続け. 地上を隙なく満たすだろう 我らはどこまでも広がり. ついには  星の海をも超えるだろう.' This suggests Las Plagas may have goals to reach the cosmos or to infect beyond our planetary body, once Earth has become wholly harmonic.
REMAKE DEPICTION.
RELATIONS TO INSECTS. My portrayal of Lord Saddler leans more towards the remake iteration, thus, he worships ALL species of insect, & will not use disparaging terms towards them in reference to humans. Osmund considers insects his arthropodal brethren, if not his children, & that they are superior to the human species. He will not take kindly to indiscriminate hatred / slaughter towards insects or similar creatures.
MASS EGO DEATH & ASSIMILATION. Osmund is motivated by vengeance & eusocial instincts to establish an "insect-like" caste system. He does NOT wish to exterminate all life, to selectively eliminate / sterilize the human race (otherwise known as eugenics), or to forcibly impose his cult religion on a global scale. Their goal always has been to destroy the ego & free-will of humanity, ushering the world in a stagnant place of peace, dubbed "Paradise", via mind control & biological slavery. Although their vision of Paradise is horrifically morbid, it is because they lack shame & distinction of right vs. wrong. They canonically do not possess human reasoning!

STRATCOM MISSION 2004 : This verse takes place during the events of Resident Evil 4. Scenarios may be slightly changed to adjust for threads, such as additional in-person interactions or alternative endings.STRATCOM MISSION FAILURE 2004 : Similar to the former, this verse is for writers who prefer bad endings for the titular characters of the entry ( Leon, Ashley, Luis, Ada or Albert ) or OC's. Bad endings do not necessarily mean permanent infection, if you have an inclination to portray a muses defeat or death.POST KIJUJU INCIDENT 2009: As Lord Saddler is virtually immortal & is capable of regenerating from life threatening wounds ^{( such as Albert Wesker, Lisa Trevor, Nemesis T-Type, G-Birkin & Mother Miranda )}, I depict in this verse that his bodily sacrifice ultimately ended with his eventual rebirth in 2009, when his consciousness & physical form was finally regained. Although Los Iluminados did not fully recover in power until 2012-2013, The Era of Umbrella Corps, Osmund thirsts for revenge, seeking power however he can. As a Dominant host, he allied himself with the surviving populace of Kijuju now afflicted with Type-2 / Type-3 Las Plagas, & these residents are considered under his protection.UMBRELLA CORPS ERA 2012 / POST EDONIAN CIVIL WAR: Experiments are conducted by none other than a clone or doppleganger of Albert Wesker. Survivors in Valdelobos are hunted by Blue Umbrella mercenaries for DNA samples / weapons testing between May & June 2012. By this time, Las Plagas has mutated to become immune to sunlight ^{( among other mutations )}, thus Lord Saddler steadily grew in power since his resurrection. Although there is a quarantine order in Valdelobos, refugees returning home are regularly infected or sacrificed. No longer blinded by the sun, he is capable of traveling globally during any time of day & not hindered by UV radiation.UMBRELLA CORPS ERA 2013 : A clone or doppelganger of Albert Wesker, after his month long attack upon Valdelobos, was tracked to Kijuju, then a rebuilt Raccoon City, & other quarantine locations, until his track went cold in Antarctica. Lord Saddler continuously looks for information pertaining to the "legendary executive" to find his base of operations in Antarctica.

VENDETTA 2014 : As the world was burdened with the Edonian Civil War, Los Iluminados sold plaga specimens to Glenn Arias to manufacture the A-Virus, in a unprecedented act of cruel revenge against The United States. Lord Saddler in this verse is normally encountered within Valdelobos, but may raid or peacefully call on alternative locations to seek biological / scientific resources. During this same period, Los Iluminados had informants loosely working with The Family to target government representatives, which together orchestrated a car-bombing resulting in a large loss of life, Leon Kennedy nearly a victim himself. As Glenn Arias was successful in terrorizing New York (regardless or not of living victims being cured), after his death, Los Iluminados resumed into hiding & rebuilding.SURVIVORS 2014 - POST 2015 : Lord Saddler's direct or indirect involvement is centered upon 4, 5, Umbrella Corps & Vendetta. Any entries occurring outside of the ones listed do not have an applicable verse, but may be available upon request. Any threads that take place within the timeline & location of Damnation, 6, 7 or 8 which heavily alter canon is contained to it's own "universe". Threads that take place beyond the scope of RE's timeline ^{( post RE8 / 2021 )} are also contained to it's own universe. Post 2015 & according to The Death Island concept artbook, Las Plagas is completely removed from the BOW market as they are deemed 'uncontrollable, self-thinking organisms', alongside Nemesis NE-Alpha.
